If your child is struggling with emotional or behavioral concerns, such as anxiety, depression, trauma reactions, grief, low self-esteem, anger problems, social difficulties, or family changes we are here to help. Our therapists utilize a range of therapeutic and evidence-based practices, including trauma-informed interventions, Play Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Children and adolescents may experience a range of emotional and behavioral difficulties that can significantly impact their well-being and daily functioning. It's important to recognize and address these challenges as soon as possible to support their healthy development.
We recognize that trauma can deeply affect a child's emotional well-being, behavior, and overall quality of life. Our therapists have expertise in working with children who have experienced trauma and PTSD, employing a trauma-informed approach that prioritizes safety, trust, and empowerment.
Using evidence-based techniques and modalities, our therapist works collaboratively with children to help them process their traumatic experiences, manage their symptoms, and build resilience. We understand that each child's healing process is unique, so we tailor our interventions to meet their specific needs and developmental stage.
We actively involve parents and caregivers in the therapeutic process to provide support and guidance. Our therapist collaborates with families to enhance communication, strengthen relationships, and create a nurturing home environment that supports the child's healing and growth. Our therapists provide education, resources, and ongoing support to parents and caregivers, ensuring they have the tools and knowledge to support their child's mental well-being beyond therapy sessions.
At Compassionate Connections, we believe in the healing power of connection. As human beings, we are hard wired for connection from the minute we are born. It's instinctive and critical for our physical and mental health. Relationships are at the core of all that we do and they shape who we become. It's our mission to help children, adolescents and their families strengthen their relationships with others and to create healing, growth and understanding through these connections.
When children experience difficulties, such as trauma or social and emotional challenges, this can lead to changes in their mood, behavior and functioning. Research tells us that early intervention is critical for healthy growth and development. Having the presence of a trusting relationship with a dedicated, caring adult in the lives of children who have experienced trauma has been shown to be one of the most effective protective factors in resiliency for these youth. Our trauma informed services for young children and adolescents help to build and strengthen these relationships and are provided via individualized, specialized behavioral health care. No one should have to feel alone when they are struggling - reach out today to connect for the help you and your family deserve.
