Frequently Asked Questions
We do not accept insurance at this time. However, we are able to provide you with something called a "superbill" that you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement for out of network benefits. All insurance companies are different, you will need to check with your insurance company regarding whether or not they will accept a superbill. We have found that insurance companies sometimes make access to services more difficult due to not covering certain services, requiring pre-authorizations which could result in an unexpected cost to the client if not approved or is retroactively declined, limiting the number of sessions provided, and requiring a mental health diagnosis and personal treatment details for coverage of services. We believe that the client should have full autonomy over what information is shared and to attend services as frequently as they would like as they know what is best for their own care.
This is different for everyone and depends on many factors such as someone's history of exposure to trauma, ability to be consistent with appointments, having a supportive network in place, etc. Sessions are typically held on a weekly basis and treatment continues until you feel that treatment goals are adequately met. Each family is in charge of their own treatment and drives the decisions being made.
The best way to get started is to email jhazelwood@compassionateconnections.net by providing your contact information, a brief statement about why you are seeking services, and a good time you can be reached to schedule a free 15 minute consultation. Specific information about the practice will be shared with you and we will discuss whether or not it seems as if our services would be a good match for your needs. Following that brief conversation, an initial appointment will be scheduled and you will receive an email with instructions on how to complete all of the necessary paperwork prior to your first appointment. Please note, Compassionate Connections Counseling, LLC does not provide any evaluations or recommendations for custody or visitation related to any court proceedings.
